Trump Criticizes Bill Maher’s Show, Calls MSNBC Guest a ‘Bimbo’

Donald Trump labeled a female anchor a “bimbo” after she encouraged people to vote for Kamala Harris during a guest appearance on Bill Maher’s Real Time. MSBNC host Stephanie Ruhle stated that she will vote for the Vice President not because she is perfect, but because she’s not Donald Trump.

In a heated discussion with New York Times columnist Bret Stephens, who complained that he doesn’t know Harris’s position on issues such as Gaza, Ruhle said Americans may not know the Vice President’s stance on every matter, but they know Trump and what he will do. The host called the former President a threat to democracy and said she doesn’t understand risking a second Trump term because Kamala Harris isn’t perfect.

The former President was furious and posted a lengthy message to his Truth Social media account, saying Stephanie Ruhle is “dumb as a rock” and a “bimbo.” Bret Stephens was labeled a “Trump-hating loser” who is unsure of himself, just like Bill Maher.

Trump’s remark drew criticisms and accusations of sexism, with some commentators pointing out that it’s not the first time he has used the offensive word to describe female critics. In 2015, Mr. Trump caused a storm when he referred to conservative journalist Megyn Kelly as a “bimbo” after she questioned him about his allegedly sexist attitude.

In a notable moment of a Republican primary debate, Kelly repeated several of Trump’s previous disparaging comments, to which he replied that he only felt that way about Rosie O’Donnell. He was visibly annoyed by the question, however, and later infamously stated that there was blood coming out of Kelly’s eyes, or “blood coming out of her wherever.”

Last year, Ms. Kelly said the brief rift between them had long passed, but Trump nevertheless called her “nasty” during a rally held days after sitting with her for a lengthy interview. He told his audience she turned “nasty” late in the discussion, notably when she asked why he did not hand over classified documents when required by a subpoena. The former President insisted that he had a right to keep the documents.
