Rubio Demands Accountability
The Secretary of State did not hold back in his critique of the Ukrainian leader, suggesting that Zelenskyy has grown accustomed to receiving unconditional American support without accountability during the previous administration. This attitude, according to Rubio, is now clashing with President Trump’s demand for tangible results and responsible use of American resources.
“Well, apologize for turning this thing into the fiasco for him that it became. There was no need for him to go in there and become antagonistic,” Rubio said.
Rubio’s criticism centered on a particularly tense moment when Zelenskyy directly challenged Vice President Vance.
“Look, this thing went off the rails. You were there. I believe it went off the rails when he said, ‘Let me ask you a question’ to the Vice President.
