Illegal immigration in America has reached an all-time high with a staggering 18.6 million undocumented individuals now residing in the United States – but we at least finally have a real number to work with.
At a glance:
- The illegal alien population has skyrocketed to 18.6 million, an 11% increase since June 2023
- Under Biden’s administration, this population grew by over 4 million (28%) since December 2020
- Approximately 225,000-250,000 “anchor babies” are born annually, representing 7% of all U.S. births
- President Trump signed an Executive Order limiting birthright citizenship to children of citizens and legal residents
- Trump’s administration plans to end “catch and release” policies in favor of detention and deportation
Record Illegal Population Overwhelms American Communities
The Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) recently released a comprehensive study showing the illegal alien population has hit an unprecedented 18.6 million, finally ridding us of this nonsense that only 11 million illegals are present in the country. This figure represents the highest number ever recorded in United States history, with communities across the nation struggling to accommodate this massive influx.
The Biden administration’s policies directly contributed to the crisis, with the illegal population increasing by more than 4 million people since December 2020. Census Bureau data shows officials missed nearly 2 million foreign nationals between mid-2021 and mid-2023, while recording an additional 2.8 million between mid-2023 and mid-2024.

Anchor Babies: The Citizenship Controversy
While illegal immigration continues to surge, the number of children born to undocumented parents on American soil remains steady but significant. FAIR estimates between 225,000 and 250,000 “anchor babies” were born in 2023 alone, accounting for approximately 7% of all births in the United States.
These children automatically receive American citizenship under current interpretations of the 14th Amendment, despite their parents’ illegal status. President Donald Trump has taken decisive action to address this issue by signing an Executive Order that limits birthright citizenship specifically to children of American citizens and legal permanent residents.
“We sent a clear message: Catch and release is over,” said Thomas Homan, Trump’s Border Czar. “You come to the border, you’re gonna be immediately turned around, or you’re gonna be put in detention and deported.”
Polling data indicates a majority of American voters support Trump’s Executive Order on birthright citizenship. The policy aims to close what many conservatives view as a significant loophole in America’s immigration system that has been exploited for decades.
Now the question is: can Trump deport this many people in four years?
