Democrats Defend Terrorists While Trump Takes Action
Democratic Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib has sparked some major controversy by defending the Iranian-backed Houthi terrorists in Yemen. Her criticism comes as President Trump took decisive military action against the group that has repeatedly attacked American forces and disrupted critical global shipping routes.
Tlaib specifically criticized the Trump administration’s use of the Signal messaging app to discuss military operations against the Houthis, seemingly more concerned with communication protocols than with stopping terrorist attacks.
The White House defended President Trump’s actions in a forceful statement highlighting the administration’s commitment to American security. “Democrats and their media allies have seemingly forgotten that President Donald J. Trump and his National Security team successfully killed terrorists who have targeted U.S. troops and disrupted the most consequential shipping routes in the world,” the statement read.
Statistics reveal the severity of the Houthi threat that Trump addressed head-on while Biden allegedly hesitated. Since 2023, Houthi terrorists have attacked U.S. Navy warships 174 times and commercial shipping vessels 145 times, forcing 75% of U.S.-flagged shipping to reroute around Africa instead of using the Suez Canal.
Democrats Rally Around Anti-Israel Activist
The controversy surrounding Tlaib extends beyond her Houthi stance to a broader pattern of Democratic lawmakers defending individuals with anti-Israel…and terroristic…positions. House Democrats, including Reps. Deila Ramirez and Rashida Tlaib, have expressed concern over the detention of Mahmoud Khalil, an anti-Israel activist facing potential deportation.
Rep. Deila Ramirez went so far as to chant “Free Mahmoud Khalil!” during a recent demonstration. This call comes despite serious allegations that Khalil, a green card holder married to a U.S. citizen, misrepresented his immigration status and failed to disclose certain affiliations when entering the country.
Even Democratic Rep. Lois Frankel, while disagreeing with Khalil’s positions, defended him on free speech grounds. “I don’t like his position. I don’t like what he has said. I don’t like the disruptive students trying to go to school, but I will say this: This is a country. We’re supposed to be a democracy. Freedom of speech is in our constitution,” Frankel stated.
President Trump has taken a much firmer stance on the issue of campus radicalism. In a statement regarding Khalil’s detention, Trump declared, “Following my previously signed Executive Orders, ICE proudly apprehended and detained Mahmoud Khalil, a Radical Foreign Pro-Hamas Student on the campus of Columbia University. This is the first arrest of many to come.”
How exactly did we end up with people like this in Congress?
