North Korea delivered almost 250 nuclear missile launchers to the war frontlines under the close watch of Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un, who pledged to expand the nuclear capabilities of his hostile country to counter the rising nuclear threats of the United States.
The launchers have been deployed along the borders with South Korea, which is a critical strategic ally of the US and houses multiple American military bases.
The state-controlled media outlets of North Korea reported that the launchers were recently manufactured for firing the highly-powerful and “tactical” ballistic missiles. The media also released photographs of the weapons and the launchers being deployed in the presence of thousands of highly charged supporters overseen by Kim himself.
This movement of strategic weapons comes at a time when Kim has already advised his military to preemptively launch nuclear strikes on anyone posing a threat to the top leadership of the country.
Since the offset of the Russia-Ukraine war, North Korea has doubled down on its efforts to increase its military might, even at the expense of disturbing regional and global peace. The country is busy preparing missiles that cannot only shatter South Korea but also have the capability to reach the mainland United States, which could trigger an all-out war in the world.
According to Kim, the new deployments will “overwhelmingly” increase the military prowess of his country against South Korea and enhance the importance of tactical nuclear weapons.
Geo-political analysts believe that North Korea is engaging in an arms race to pressure the US into accepting that the country is equipped with nuclear weapons and get rid of the current sanctions that hamper its economic and diplomatic growth.
In order to tackle Kim’s warring ambitions, the US, Japan, and South Korea are also intensifying their military cooperation and engaging in combined military drills.
According to the spokesperson of South Korea’s Joint Chief of Staff, Lee Sung Joon, the US and South Korea were studying the details of the deployment and are yet to see if these launchers are ready to be used for combative purposes.
Lee stated that these latest missiles are still not the most dangerous weapons the North has, adding that the country has some missiles that are capable of traveling more than 600 kilometers.
Kim’s North made headlines earlier this year for testing a hostile missile, Hwasong-11, which is capable of hitting most parts of South Korea and threatening the lives of more than 51 million people if launched from the bordering region.
Kim has also urged his countrymen to prepare for a possible long-term battle against the United States and its allies, claiming that the US is involved in “outrageous” military cooperation with its allies and is making a “nuclear-based military bloc.”
He added that he learned in the last 30 years that they had to prepare themselves for the war against the United States, which does not respect negotiations. The authoritarian leader also noted that they have to prepare for the upcoming generations of North Korea, which will also face constant war threats from the United States.
