NFL Legend Says He’s Humiliated After Being Handcuffed on Plane

Former Broncos running back and NFL hall of famer Terrell Davis said on July 15th that a flight attendant had him forcefully removed from an aircraft following an incident in which he was wrongfully detained.

Davis (51) took to Instagram to explain what happened. He said that he and his family were flying from Denver to California on United Airlines when he was accused of hitting a flight attendant. According to Davis, his son requested a cup of ice from the flight attendant during in-flight service.

According to Davis, the airline attendant either didn’t hear him or chose to ignore his request, continuing by their row. So he gently reached and patted his arm to refocus his attention on my son’s request for some ice.

According to Davis, the flight attendant screamed out not to “hit” him. Other passengers witnessed the incident. According to Davis, he didn’t speak to the flight attendant again.

Later, six agents from the FBI and local law enforcement boarded the aircraft as soon as they touched down in Orange County, and the captain motioned for everyone on board to stay seated. In the presence of his family, along with the rest of the people on board, the FBI agents and local officials came rushing up to my seat and cuffed me without providing any explanation.

According to Davis, he felt shamed, embarrassed, helpless, and furious.

During the inquiry, investigators determined that the flight attendant’s charges were unfounded, according to Davis.

United Airlines issued an apology in a statement confirming that the flight attendant who Davis said was responsible for the incident had been removed from duty.

According to ESPN, Davis played for the Denver Broncos from 1995 to 2001. He earned two Super Bowl rings and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2017.
