A new poll by Rasmussen indicated that over 60% of likely American voters believe that Joe Biden’s recent cognitive impairment endangers national security.
According to the poll, 46% agreed, 36% disagreed, and 22% strongly disagreed that Biden’s mental deterioration endangers US national security. Rasmussen Reports and the Heartland Institute conducted the poll prior to President Joe Biden’s Sunday withdrawal from the presidential campaign.
81% of Republican voters, 39% of Democrat voters, and 62% of unaffiliated voters think that Biden’s recent mental deterioration is a danger to our nation’s security.
A large majority of Americans worry that President Biden’s mental deterioration, which was on full display during the June debate, might compromise US national security.
Six out of ten Americans think Biden isn’t up to the task of protecting the US from domestic and foreign dangers.
In a different poll of potential voters in six states that might decide the election, 65% of those people think that Biden’s mental deterioration poses a danger to the nation’s security, with 50% strongly agreeing. A margin of sampling error of ±2 percentage points was applied to the national findings, and ±1 percentage points was applied to battleground states for the poll that was carried out on July 5-12, 2024.
But Vice President Kamala Harris isn’t without her own struggles.
Rasmussen shows that in a two-person contest on a national level, Donald Trump is ahead of Kamala Harris by seven points.
Including third-party candidates does not change Trump’s lead. In a two-person contest, Trump has a 50 to 43 advantage against Harris.
Nearly half (43%) of those surveyed felt that Kamala is not the ideal candidate for president, while 41% said she is.
Out of all Democrats, 75% responded yes, and 14% said no. Among Independents, 51% were against, and 28% were in favor.
Notably, Trump had a six-point advantage over Biden in the most recent Rasmussen survey, which was conducted two weeks earlier. In spite of all the media fawning over Harris, Trump has grown his advantage by one point to seven, according to this survey.
