After stabbing her husband and plunging her vehicle into a lake with her three children inside, Wei Fen Ong, a woman from Texas, was arrested and charged with various offenses. On Friday morning, authorities were alerted that a man had called in a complaint that his wife had attacked him with a knife.
The husband is likely to live after being brought to a nearby hospital by Carrollton Fire Rescue.
The man’s wife took off in their car with the children, ages 8, 9, and 12. They were in the backseat of the car when it was driven into a lake. Police received a second 911 call about this incident in the neighboring town of Lewisville. One youngster, among the four passengers in the car, is still in serious condition after being taken to a nearby hospital.
Before the stabbing, neighbors reportedly heard shouting and screaming, according to the station’s reporting.
Ong is scheduled to be brought to the Denton County Detention Facility after being apprehended by the Carrollton Police Department. Everyone in the family is cooperating with the police.
At around 7:48 a.m. on Friday, emergency responders from the Carrollton region (north of Dallas) were sent to a home in the 4400 block of Tall Knight Lane after a man was stabbed with a knife. The man who called 911 and said his wife had stabbed him was the same man who was wounded.
Emergency personnel helped the eldest child exit the car on arrival at the lake. After removing a second unresponsive child from the vehicle, authorities wasted no time in administering CPR, which ultimately resulted in saving the kid’s life.
Responders were able to get the third child out of the vehicle and get them to the hospital alive. One of the three children is still in serious shape, but the other two are stable and doing well.
