Joy Behar’s recent claims about President Trump being the first to criticize a predecessor have sparked a barrage of mockery online after it was revealed that she was, obviously, lying through her teeth. The co-host of “The View” seems to have conveniently forgotten history in her eagerness to attack Trump yet again.
At a glance:
• Joy Behar claimed Donald Trump was the first President in her lifetime to publicly criticize his predecessor
• Behar made these remarks during an episode of ABC’s “The View,” seemingly forgetting Barack Obama’s frequent criticism of George W. Bush
• Sara Haines suggested Republicans are united by their opposition to the Biden administration
• Barack Obama repeatedly blamed Bush for economic problems and issues with Iran during his presidency
• President Biden has also frequently blamed Trump for inflation and unemployment issues during his term
Behar’s False Claims About Presidential Criticism
TV host Joy Behar made the astonishing claim that President Donald Trump was the first sitting President in her lifetime to publicly criticize his predecessor. The liberal co-host of “The View” unleashed this false statement during a recent episode of the ABC daytime talk show.
Does she believe her own nonsense or does she know she’s lying?
“I never remember in my lifetime a sitting President trashing a previous President. I’ve never heard that before. You never heard — you know — Ronald Reagan didn’t do it, their Saint Ronald,” Behar stated with complete confidence.
Her comments came as she criticized the Trump administration for highlighting former President Joe Biden’s failures. Behar suggested that Trump should simply move on since Biden is no longer in office, seemingly oblivious to the irony of her own continued obsession with criticizing Trump.
Joy Behar from The View attempts to take a jab at Trump, claiming she's NEVER seen a sitting president criticize his predecessor like this in her entire life.

Obama’s History of Blaming Bush
Behar’s selective memory conveniently forgets that former President Barack Obama made a habit of blaming his predecessor, George W. Bush, throughout his presidency. This pattern of blame continued well beyond Obama’s first term and became a standard deflection tactic for his administration.
“We inherited the worst recession since the Great Depression, a banking system on the verge of meltdown. We had lost 4 million jobs by the time I was sworn in and would then lose another 4 million in a few months right after I was sworn in before our economic policies had a chance to take root,” Obama once said while in office, clearly placing blame on the Bush administration.
Obama continued this blame game throughout his eight years in office, frequently citing the “mess” he inherited when facing criticism about his own economic policies. The liberal media rarely called him out for this persistent finger-pointing at his predecessor.
Biden Continued the Democratic Blame Game
Following in Obama’s footsteps, former President Joe Biden repeatedly blamed President Trump for inflation and unemployment issues during his term. The Biden administration frequently cited Trump’s policies as the source of economic problems, despite the fact that the economy was thriving before COVID-19 hit.
Remember his constant references to “the last guy” and “the previous administration”? They were a hallmark of his press conferences and public statements. His attempts to shift responsibility for his own policy failures became so transparent that even some in the mainstream media began to notice the pattern.
