During a hearing on Thursday, Republican New York Representative Elise Stefanik argued that the censoring of Hunter Biden’s laptop swung the 2020 race in Joe Biden’s favor.
After discussing the laptop with the FBI and verifying its legitimacy, Twitter prohibited its users from tweeting or DMing a link to an October 2020 article on the laptop that appeared in the New York Post.
However, Internal Revenue Service whistleblower Gary Shapley testified before the House Ways and Means Committee in 2019, revealing that bureau employees had discovered the laptop’s authenticity during their investigation into the taxes of Hunter Biden.
Stefanik said the laptop belonging to Hunter Biden (the laptop from hell) is rumored to hold a wealth of information, including corruption and criminality. She called it a hellhole that includes hard drugs, pornography, and prostitution – even money laundering.
The congresswoman said that the Biden family was involved in shell corporations, Communist Chinese corruption, and tens of millions of dollars in transactions with foreign governments in exchange for access to the Bidens. She said heading into election day of 2020, the government engaged in unlawful censorship to shield and promote Joe Biden. She said 61% of Democrats were among the 53% of voters who said they may have changed their minds if they had known about the Hunter Biden laptop scandal.
Stefanik highlighted the results of a study done by TIPP Insights between December 7 and 9, 2022. Of 1351 respondents, 501 (or 37%) said they were keeping up with the laptop news. Of those 37%, 53% said they would either definitely or probably have voted differently in the 2020 election if they had known. The total includes 52% Republicans and 62% Democrats. Out of the original 1351 respondents, less than 20% said they would have changed their vote had they known about the laptop.
After Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany of the White House repeatedly brought up the incident in briefings, McEnany’s access to Twitter was revoked.
