Democrat Strategist Says ‘Very, Very Slim’ Chance of Biden Beating Trump

After Joe Biden’s press conference on Thursday night, Democratic strategist David Axelrod took to social media to say that Biden had “very, very slim” chances of winning the presidential election this autumn.

Axelrod stated that Biden’s camp has not been very truthful with the president, as evidenced by Biden’s statement that his team has not told him or has found evidence in any polls suggesting he will not win in November.

In a post on social media site X, Axelrod expressed his belief that Biden has been kept in the dark and that no one has been open and honest with him about the facts. This indicates that the age issue is a significant and possibly unsolvable problem and that his chances of winning are extremely low.

It’s also alarming not to think it odd that Biden is unable to use the internet and look at a poll or two.

Ever since Biden’s performance in the final debate in June, Axelrod and other former Obama advisers have been harshly critical of the president. According to the Obama strategist, Democrats would be better off without Biden as their presidential nominee if they want to beat Trump.

Just seconds after Biden wrapped up a news conference during the NATO meeting in Washington, D.C., Axelrod made his latest remarks. During that presser, the president was asked at one point if he would withdraw from the race if he saw statistics showing that Vice President Harris would have a greater chance of winning than him.

The leading Democratic pollster, Bendixen & Amandi Inc., released a survey this week showing that Biden slipped one point behind Trump and that Harris topped him by one point, 42% to 41%.

On Thursday, Biden’s staff told Democratic senators that reelection is within reach if he can defeat Trump in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania while retaining the majority of the states he won in 2020.

However, since the debate, other surveys have demonstrated that Biden is lagging behind Trump in critical areas, and he has been trailing in all three of those states as well.

At the news conference, Biden devoted a significant amount of time to reasserting his case for continuing to be the party’s nominee and asserting his superiority over Trump.

By his admission, Biden felt he was the most qualified for the presidency and the presidency in general.

On Thursday, Biden downplayed the worries of over a dozen Democratic legislators who had openly asked him to step down, stating that it was “not unusual” for politicians to be concerned about the president.
