Vasquez Addresses Dating Rumors
Camille Vasquez, the sharp-witted attorney who gained prominence during Johnny Depp’s defamation trial against Amber Heard, has decisively addressed rumors about her supposed romantic involvement with the actor. Vasquez, celebrated for her analytical skills and advocacy, has unequivocally stated that her relationship with Depp is strictly professional.
In a recent interview, Vasquez made her position crystal clear, leaving no room for speculation.
“I would never. Let me just go on the record here: I never dated Johnny Depp. I never would date Johnny Depp. I think he’s a lovely person… He’s not my type,” Vasquez said.
A bit brutal, no?
The attorney, who played a key role in Depp’s legal victory, has consistently focused on restoring her client’s reputation rather than engaging with tabloid speculation.
“I remember maybe after 30 [or] 40 minutes of speaking with him, I remember having an out of body experience and looking at him and thinking, ‘He views the world so differently than I do.’” Vasquez said recently.
The defamation trial in 2022 saw Depp suing Heard over a 2018 op-ed, resulting in a jury ruling in Depp’s favor with significant damages awarded. Vasquez’s cross-examination of Heard was particularly noted for its effectiveness, contributing to the legal team’s success.
Born to Colombian and Cuban parents, Vasquez was raised with big career expectations. She pursued law, graduating magna cum laude from the University of Southern California and obtaining her J.D. from Southwestern Law School. Vasquez joined Brown Rudnick in 2018, specializing in defamation litigation, and was promoted to partner after the Depp trial.
Vasquez’s client roster has expanded to include other high-profile individuals such as Ben Affleck, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Jennifer Lopez. In 2023, she further elevated her career by becoming a legal analyst for NBC News and taking on new clients, including Gloria Trevi.
